Jun 9-11: Getting to Know Once Upon a Mattress at the Grandstreet Theatre

“For a princess is a delicate thing, delicate and dainty as a dragonfly's wing”

In this young performer version of The Princess and the Pea, Princess Winnifred is an ungainly, brash girl competing for the hand of Prince Dauntless, whose domineering mother Queen Aggravain has declared he must marry a "true" princess before anyone else in the kingdom can marry. This rollicking spin on the classic tale of royal courtship and comeuppance will delight audiences of all ages!

MUSIC BY MARY RODGERS
